Neil White is the Acting Deputy Head of School - Pedagogy and thet Early/Primary Years Principal at GEMS (Singapore). He joined GEMS World Academy (Singapore) in August 2014. Neil brings with him 20 years of international teaching experience, across class, management and leadership positions.
Prior to becoming an educator, Neil was an apprentice professional footballer with Middlesbrough Football Club in the United Kingdom. With teacher specialisation in Science and Mathematics, Neil has taught in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Singapore. Neil has a Masters degree in Educational Leadership and Management from Monash University in Australia.
In the United Arab Emirates, Neil served as an IB Coordinator at a start-up school and was responsible for coordinating the curriculum and assessment development, as well as leading the school through candidacy, authorisation and accreditation status. Neil has a wealth of administrative experience, previous roles include Head of Department, IB Curriculum coordinator and most recently as a Deputy Principal for four years at a leading IB school. Neil has completed his eleventh year in Singapore.
In addition to extensive school-specific roles, Neil is a member of the International Baccalaureate Educator Network (IBEN). His support of the IB in Asia-Pacific includes leading teacher training as a workshop leader, being a visit team member for IB school accreditations, as well as assisting new schools implementing the programme by working as a school consultant.
Neil brings to GEMS World Academy (Singapore) team, great experience, insight and more importantly, a passion for high quality education. Neil is a dedicated and committed administrator, who is passionate about developing students knowledge and experiences within a diverse, international learning environment.
Neil's wife Lynn is the Head of Early Years Grades (Nursery - KG2) and also an IBEN educator. Their son Jack and daughter Chloe are both GEMS (Singapore) students.
